HOURS of OPERATION Our normal business hours are when most of our customers work which are weekdays between 8:30am and 5:30pm. However, if at all possible, we will work with customers at other times with prior arrangements. Please call and we’ll explore the options. PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY Deciding who should photograph your products is about a lot more than the quality of the camera. The advances in digital photography have made it more possible for the occasional photographer to capture good images than in the past. Digital enhancement computer software like Adobe’s Photoshop have also made getting a “not quite so good” photo be be acceptable for some uses. But there is nothing that can replace professional camera and lighting equipment used by an experienced photographer to achieve consistent quality results in an efficient and timely way. Many of our customers find, in fact, that the best use of their time and money is when they take the time to experiment with different product layouts and provide us with a thought-out photo layout from which to proceed. OFFICE COLOUR PRINTING Office colour printing has come a long way in the past few years. Quality has improved and costs have come down. No doubt there are some tasks that are best done in-house. Consider, though, that office machines are generally quite slow and consumables (inks and toners) are quite expensive. In addition, many jobs require paper stocks that aren’t normally available in small quantities and require other work like folding and trimming to size. Our best advice is to give us a call. We’ll be up-front with you and tell you the advantages of different options. DIGITAL vs TRADITIONAL PRESS PRINTING We’ve been doing digital printing for quite a number of years. In the past, there was a place for digital printing for small jobs that were needed quickly but it was pretty easy to tell that it was printed digitally. That’s not so any more. It is often very difficult for even us to tell how something was printed, That said, however, there are times when one technology is superior to another in quality, speed, or cost. When the speed of getting the job done matters, digital printing will usually get the job done faster. Generally, a very large quantity of a single page is more efficiently printed using traditional printing equipment as long as time isn’t a major factor. At the same time, larger quantities of multi-page documents are often more efficiently done digitally. If a special process is needed (like embossing, metallic foils or inks, or special coatings) or when the printing sheet size is larger than our equipment can accommodate, that we work with our trade-printing suppliers to provide the best possible solution for our customer.
